Description:
In three semesters I worked on my undergraduate thesis for methods of developing contemporary designs in historical contexts. I believe this is one of the most challenging problems for many historical cities around the world.
The site of the design project was chosen beside a 500-year-old castle in a remote village in Isfahan province. The goal was to revitalize the area by developing a new urban-scale plan and design, providing the facilities needed for modern lifestyle which in the meanwhile is respectful to the cultural landscape of the town.
The complex includes a main garden, influenced by traditional Persian gardens; museum of cultural history and proposal for a nearby inn. Although the main focus was on landscape design and elements.
